Are there specific aftercare instructions I should tell my clients to care for tattoos that use aqua tattoo inks?

Quantum aqua tattoo inks are natural and long-lasting with a high pigment content. However, aqua is an exceptional color for tattoos and requires care to ensure the tattoo looks perfect for longer. Here are guidelines that you may share with your clients:

  • Keep the tattooed area clean: Gently wash the tattooed area with mild, fragrance-free soap and lukewarm water. Avoid scrubbing or using harsh soaps that may irritate the skin.
  • Apply a thin layer of ointment: After washing, apply a thin layer of Quantum Aftercare to keep the tattoo moisturized and promote healing. Follow the manufacturer's instructions or consult your tattoo artist's advice on which product to use.
  • Avoid excessive moisture: While it's essential to keep the tattoo moisturized, avoid soaking it in water for prolonged periods, such as in hot tubs, swimming pools, or long showers, as it can impact the healing process.
  • Protect from direct sunlight:  Keep your tattoo away from exposure to the sun or tanning beds, as UV rays can fade the tattoo and damage the healing skin. If sun exposure is unavoidable, use broad-spectrum sunscreen with a high SPF on the tattooed area.
  • Avoid picking or scratching: Resist the temptation to scratch or pick at the tattoo, as it can disrupt the healing process and may lead to infection or scarring.
  • Wear loose and breathable clothing: Opt for loose-fitting, cotton clothing that allows the tattoo to breathe and minimizes friction against the healing skin.
