How they started Tattooing
Nitesh Minhas, AKA @niteshminhas on Instagram, defies norms with his outstanding and vibrant color realism on darker skin tones. Despite having to face the negativity of some of his friends and family about tattoo art being a viable career in Indian society, he opened his first studio in 2015. He currently owns Elite Art Tattoo in Chandigarh, India.
Although Nitish has always been interested and skilled in drawing and painting, it was not until he saw a tattoo artist on TV that he found his real passion. He honored his family’s wishes by pursuing a Tech degree, but never stopped working on his art.
He went on to work as a mechanical engineer for an automobile company, but that spark of passion for tattooing was not extinguished. He eventually decided to leave his job behind and become a full-time tattoo artist. He used his savings to buy equipment and practiced for 7-8 hours a day, learning from YouTube videos, articles, and conventions. He realized his dream in 2015 by opening a tattoo studio and has been tattooing ever since.
